Meidum, about 100 km south of Cairo, is the collapsed pyramid begun under Huni and finished by Snefru around 2600 BC. Its outer casing fell away and left a tall stepped core standing in a mound of rubble, so it looks unlike any other pyramid. You can climb down the passage into the burial chamber, and you'll likely have the site almost to yourself.
